First day of practice for the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team, which kicked off the third round of the 2022 season at Estoril. On a day marked by both sunshine and grey sky the team from Ravenna immediately showed good signs, with Lorenzo Baldassari holding the 2nd positions.

In the FP1 Balda began to get to grips with the track and his YZF – R6, posting 18 laps and immediately showing great form. Lorenzo took the lead, thanks to a time of 1’40″361.

In the afternoon session, the values in the field changed slightly. Balda tried a different solution in terms of set-up, completing 16 laps and taking 7th place.

With the first day of practice over, the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team is ready to race. Tomorrow in fact it will first be time for Superpole (11.25 Italian time), which will determine the starting grid for the two scheduled races, then the lights will go out for Race 1, scheduled for 16.15 Italian time.

“The first session of the day was positive. In the afternoon we wanted to try something different, which unfortunately didn’t work. However, I’m very confident for tomorrow, as we’ve understood the right direction. The important thing is to start in the first two rows, so that we can then fight with those in front“.
