Spanish GP FP1-2
Baldassarri finishes twelfth on the first day of free practice at the Jerez Grand Prix
After the long stop due to the coronavirus pandemic, the MotoGP World Championship has returned to action at the Jerez – Ángel Nieto Circuit with all the necessary measures to guarantee the safety of riders and teams and to be able to enjoy the motorcycling spectacle again.
After a test day last Wednesday, today Baldassarri has returned to action with the dispute of the first two official free practice sessions, spending the day recovering the sensations on top of his Kalex and working on the set-up with the race in mind. The high temperatures in Jerez complicate the work, modifying the configuration made in the last tests, but the team is working on the right way and confident of continuing to take steps forward tomorrow.
Lorenzo Baldassarri, 12º, 1’41.965 (+0.555)
“Finally we return to action, we really wanted and I’m happy about this. It’s very hot, which is difficult, since it changes a lot from the winter test to now. It is important to look for that extra to control the grip and score the difference from the rest. We lack a little confidence in the rear wheel, but we have worked very well today. We are missing a few tenths of the pace but we have tomorrow to consolidate the work we have planned and in the afternoon we will have to find a quick lap to do well on Sunday.”
