In 2021 the MotoGp returns to Finland, the appointment had been missing since 1982 when it ran on the old circuit of Imatra. The Kimyring takes its name from the river that passes not too far from the circuit, so it is not a tribute to the F1 driver as you could easily think. The new circuit is located in Iitti, Kymenlaakso, 110Km north-east of the capital Helsinki. The KymiRing measures 4,600 meters with a width that varies between 12 and 15 meters, the longest straight measures 1.2Km and it’s opposite to the starting one, the curves are 18 equally distributed between right and left, the design has tried to respect the original morphology of the ground so the difference in height between the lowest and highest point of the track is 18 meters.
