SEASON 2026 – FIM SUPERBIKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Between tests, collaborations and a new team with Ducati, Lorenzo Baldassarri’s season has already begun.
There are only a few weeks to go before the start of the FIM Superbike World Championship, but for Lorenzo Baldassarri, the season has already begun. Thanks to a combination of commitments and new developments for the new Ducati rider, the transition from 2025 to 2026 has been non-stop, with a great deal of excitement. Having entered last year’s MotoE championship, Lorenzo competed in his last official race on 8 November, before diving straight into the off-season where, between the motorcycle show and the increasingly competitive “100 km race for champions”, held at Valentino Rossi’s ranch between 27 and 29 November, there was very little time to rest and unwind. It was a rather positive phase in which, in addition to the official announcement that he would be racing in World Superbike with the GoEleven team, important partnerships were also formed that will accompany the 29-year-old in this next chapter of his career.
The first step was to take to the track at the Andalucia Circuit, riding a Ducati similar to the one he will be riding this year, obtaining good results and excellent first impressions: “After the last round of MotoE, there wasn’t much time to take a break, a bit like during the season, between one race and another. We’ll soon be heading to Jerez and Portimao for testing, before the official tests in Australia, so I’m already in the thick of the pre-season. There was also the 100 km race, which is becoming increasingly competitive and requires a high level of preparation, where I narrowly missed out on victory. I’ve just come back from a few days of training in Spain and I have to say I’m very happy with how it went. My girlfriend and I set off in a van with a standard Ducati very similar to the one I’ll be riding in Superbike. It was excellent training, where I took the time to break in the bike at the beginning, then increased my pace until I was lapping at what I consider to be good times.” (Lorenzo Baldassarri)
Ahead of the official team presentation, which takes place just a few days before departure for Australia, important partnerships with technical suppliers have also been finalised. Above all, GIMOTO, the historic brand of custom-made suits worn by great Superbike and World Championship champions, is making a comeback to the world of racing. This is a stylish relaunch for the Cassano d’Adda-based company, which is putting itself on the line to offer a top-quality product, marketed according to the criteria of exclusive, tailor-made clothing. Packed with technology, the GIMOTO suit is created as a first-class tailored garment, with every seam and detail designed to offer Lorenzo’s physique maximum performance on the track, supporting him in his quest for results.
With the same complicity, but consolidated in a different way, the new helmet supplied by Arai is a huge leap forward in terms of safety. Not only because the Japanese company needs no introduction, but also because, after providing protection and comfort to legendary riders in all categories, it recognises ‘Balda’ as a testimonial for Italian motorcycling, entrusting him with its world-renowned product.
Last but not least, the partnership with Gaerne, a historic brand of boots and more, offers the rider from the Marche region great reliability during his activities. Where footwear travels at high speed and often just a millimetre from the asphalt, Lorenzo knows he can count on the ultimate in Italian-made motorcycle boots.
There is very little time left, just a few more training sessions on the track and then, after the official tests, it will be time to think about the championship.
