2011 Red Bull Rookies Champion Lorenzo Baldassarri made his Moto3 ™ World Championship debut with the Gresini Team in 2013. His height and physique forced him to switch immediately to a larger Moto2 ™ bike with the same team in 2014.
It was a difficult year, but in 2015 Baldassarri conquered the first podium in Australia with Forward Racing, finishing the Championship in ninth place.
He remained for another season with Forward Racing and took his first win at home GP in Misano.
After a more difficult year, in 2018 he joined the Pons HP40 team and scored five podiums, including the victory in Jerez, the second victory of his career.
Baldassarri, known as Balda, starts 2019 with three wins in the first four races and remains at the top of the general classification until the sixth race. He finished the Moto2 ™ World Championship in seventh place.
2020 season has been a weird crazy season for everyone, Lorenzo started very well in Qatar with the podium then some difficulties arrived, but he didn’t give up and managed to rebuild the feeling finishing the season with rather positive results.
2022 represents a big step for Balda, a new adventure in a different paddock. Lorenzo becomes a WSSP World Championship rider.
Balda and Evan Bros Yamaha Racing Team: a top-level pairing who immediately had a clear objective for the season. Aiming for the world title. And Balda did not disappoint expectations, scoring an incredible season and bringing home 16 podiums and 4 victories. Lorenzo, fighting until the end of the championship for the world title, will become Vice World Champion in Mandalika (Indonesia).
Strengthened by an incredible year in his rookie season, Lorenzo is promoted to the major category and in 2023 the number 7 will line up on the WSBK grid with the colors of the GMT 94 team and the official support of Yamaha Racing.
