PRESEASON TEST | ESTORIL & ARAGON

The Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team completed a double two-day test at Aragon and Estoril, which will host the first and third rounds of the 2022 season respectively. The days in Spain and Portugal represented a new opportunity of improvement for Lorenzo Baldassarri, for who the start of the dances is getting closer and closer.

The first two days of testing took place at the Motorland of Aragon, on two days marked by bad weather. With temperatures of around 10 degrees in the air Balda was only able to take advantage of a few hours of dry weather during day one, where they were still fast. The work obviously continued in wet conditions, where the team was able to build excellent rain setups test after test.
From Aragon the team moved on to Estoril, where unfortunately the weather was just as inclement. In Portugal, the dry window was reduced to the early hours of the first day, with temperatures similar to those at Aragon, during which Lorenzo was able to reacquaint himself with the track, where he had last ridden in 2012.
The Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team can now look forward to the new season with great confidence, ahead of the final pre-season test on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 April at the Aragon circuit, where the 2022 WorldSSP championship will officially get underway the following weekend.

On the first day at Aragon we were able to take advantage of the dry conditions, collecting important data despite the strong wind, while on the second day we got familiar with the wet conditions, which can certainly be useful. We knew that the weather could play tricks on us at Estoril, but between dry and wet we were able to make progress: for me it was very important to ride at that track, since I had only done it once ten years ago. Overall I am satisfied, first of all for the great effort made by the team, which I thank. I can’t wait to be back at Aragon to start this new and exciting season”.
