Another thrilling podium finish for the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team at Donington, who took a fantastic second place in Race 2 thanks to Lorenzo Baldassarri.

Day 3 at Donington was inaugurated by the Warm Up, lasting 15 minutes as always, useful for making the final adjustments ahead of Race 2. Balda completed nine laps, obtaining 4th position.

Late in the morning it was time for Race 2. When the lights went out Lorenzo – who started from P6 due to Cluzel’s absence – was unable to get off to the best possible start, slipping to 7th place. The Italian did not lose his composure, recovering positions thanks to an excellent pace, so much so that he was in 3rd place in the middle of the race.
On lap sixteen Balda took the lead, once again battling for victory in the finale with Aegerter. Balda gave his all to the last meter, taking an excellent second place, and thus extending his streak of consecutive podiums to seven.

By virtue of the weekend’s results Lorenzo consolidates his second position in the riders championship, with 181 points.

“Today was another good race, where we missed out on the win by really nothing. Like yesterday we were in the fight for the win right to the end: I tried to attack with all my might, but a loss of rear end convinced me to settle for second place. We gained important points for the championship, we must not give up. I thank the team and Yamaha for their great work“.
